Matre’s Orphic Songs with the Swedish Radio Choir

In the powerful acoustics of Storkyrkan, the Swedish Radio Choir and Alexander Lüken let Ørjan Matre’s Orphic Songs form a ritual arc through the concert. Matre’s Orphic hymns are woven together with Ingvar Lidholm’s expressive Canto LXXXI , Britta Byström’s shimmering To måner, Laura Marconi’s Vorrei and Richard Strauss’ atmospheric Der Abend. Here, ancient myth, Nordic and contemporary choral sound, and existential contemplation meet in a programme where the voice moves between fragile stillness, darkness and light.
